I completely concur with what you are saying . I really dont get the concept of back up . Say you are interested in a speciality should'nt you be applying to the one you like. Say if you apply to different specialities and by bad karma you match in FP and you really liked IM or vice-versa then what ?

  #27

i think fp remains empty only becuz some places won't fill their seats with img's even after match

Does anyone have an idea how the Univ of IL Rockford (rural track) FP program is..? Do they offer a prematch..? I am worried as they have only 2 positions.

  #36

Any news?

I got a rejection from Peoria FM 2 wks ago.

  #37

Hey Tiger07,
When did you apply...? I have applied to Peoria FM too, but no news yet !
Did you receive rejection in email or letter..? SOme told me they send out letters.

What are your credentials..?

  #38

Applied on Sept. 16. It came throu both email and ERAS msg.

resonable scores (better than all the interns at the FM pgm I did rotation at), but old grad > 5 yrs. Some 1 said IL had a thing with older grads. I guess that's the reason for rej.

  #39

Thansk, Tiger07, I am an old grad too >5yrs with ok scores.

Good luck to you.

Hi Everyone,

just signed a prematch in a community FP program.

I did have 2 other interviews that I have have now cancelled.

In total 70 apps, 3 interviews, 14 rejections.

good luck to all old grads, low scorers and multi repeaters....

If you really interested in a program ask about a prematch, don't be shy wink
It may work out in your favour. It did for me.

creds: 77 (3)/82 (2)/pass (1)/GC/1994 grad/USCE/US LOR's

I wish everyone the very best of luck.

billiardKing.... smiling face
