I have a doubt. If I deassigned a personal statement and reassigned a new one, will the programs be able to see my previous personal statement if they have not downloaded any documents yet?

Yes if the documents show as available but not retrieved. I did the same thing, and now I am so sorry. I understood that I could deassign a doc, that is the PS, and reassign a new one since the program has not downloaded the doc, and that the program will only get the new one, but they got both, so I soooooooooooooooooo regret that decision. My PSs differ with only one sentance, but that can still harm me a lot. I just hope it will not though.

So my advice is to beware, because they will get both PSs!

Best of luck to you!

Oh no. I already did it. But my two personal statements only differ by 2 words. I only hope that it won't hurt my chances now.

NO WORRIES NECESSARY. THE SECOND WILL OVERWRITE THE FIRST ONE. THEY WILL NOT GET TWO, ONLY ONE. GOOD LUCK.

youre wellcome. please read below from ERAS HELP. hope this helps. ngt.

I deassigned a Personal Statement (or Letter of Recommendation), why was it sent?

When a document is assigned to a program to which you have already applied, you can no longer make changes to that specific document. The document(s) is scheduled for delivery, the same concept as placing the document in the mailbox and mailing it, you would not be able to get it back. If you wish to assign another document in its place, then the program will download both documents. However, the new document will overwrite the old document. Depending on the length of time between the unassigning of the old document and the reassigning of the new document, the program typically will not have access to the old document, unless, they have already printed out a hard copy of that particular document. If you want to make a change, you must de-assign the original document; create a new LOR record or Personal Statement, and assign the new document in place of the old document.
