ok how r places like St Joseph MErcy in Pontiac, MI compared to the average medical college in india. just trying to get an idea, how does a small hospital in rural setup compare to the ones we get thru PG entrance exams here. what i wanna know is what the actual truth is with regard to this

id go for the small rural hosp against even top gun places in india. more compulsory teaching (nonexistant even at some of the biggest indian instis). however u do sacrifice pt exposure. but then u cant do much for the pts in india. however medicine here is sometimes mechanical - but also more lucrative.

Hi Maverick, our good Indian hospitals are definitly better. But if you are looking for a rare speciality like Hem Onc it is better to go to a rural program here.
