HI to all I need help from you guys...what subjects from Neuroscience ( anatomy) do I need to review for step 2 Ck? I am starting with step 2, and since I have not done step 1, I am not sure what to review. Neuroscience is to much to read, and I want to be selective with the step 1 material, if that is posible....Please help me on this matter since time is running against me.
Thanks DrChamita

i took step 1 in 2003 (94) and s2ck in 7/2006. i didn't read neuroanatomy, and scored 99 with good neurology rates. if u wanna read it, i'd be selective, only things that matter for step2. best wishes

well, neurology from any source u want, i did MedStudy for all internal medicine, incl. neurology. for some basics in neuroanatomy u can read some chapters from neuroanatomy high yield, but dont waste time in reading everything and the things in detail, just try to understand. again its not 100% necessary, but it gives u confidence, i.e. if u have time read some of this book, if not, it's not a big problem

Thanks alot for your comment, I already finished all pneuroscience , and reviewing neurology "not only from Kaplan" , I am a firm believer that we should not study as only for the exams, that would be a tremendous mistake that would never cross my mind. I have found a lot of help on prep4 usmle, not only subject wise but as a great support group and motivational feedback...always positive. These exams are not easy, and it gets worse if you are an old graduate, so these forums are made to express doubts and look for help that can allow us achieve our goals... Thanks again to all of you and best of luck for these exams !!

exactly, i agree with u. i am also the kind of someone who studies for knowledge, not for the exam, and this is best in the preparatory phase in which u r as u mentioned.. however, i believe, as the exam nears and the countdown begins (2-3 months before the exam), then this attitude is less applicable, u have to do questions and know what to review FOR THE EXAM, and not for urself. again, if u have a good background, which u did in the preparatory phase, it becomes easier to study approching the exam good luck to all of u

I totally agree with you...questions and more questions....becuase you can read as many books there are, but without doing questions we would be definitley not prepared for the exams...this is the reason why I asked for your guys help, in order to be selctive and thorough with this subject for the exam...I have already reviewed my basics and now I am reading better than before neurology....the first reading always takes more time, and I rather do it well than go to my second reading as my first....of course all of us have a different way to approach these exams...but since we are on the same boat it is good to read any suggestion that can improve or studies...and today I feel Great about it !! Thanks again !!
