Hi guys
I was an observer to this forum utill today.
I got back my score and sadely noted I failed with 179/73.
I am old IMG and studied for 9 months Kaplan notes and listen to videos.
The exam was very difficult.
My problem now is that I dont know from were to start.
Shall I read again Kaplan notes or shall a swop to other material?
I dont have the guts to relissen to the dvds again!
Any one has experienced th Kaplan home stiudy programme?Any comments? any difference from Kaplan notes?
For how long I need to read in order to pass?
I appreciate your comments!

I'm sorry to hear about that, its very sad news for all of us, and I know that its not the situation any one should go through, I'm really for that.

I want to ask you few questions, did you do any nbme forms, if then how much was your score and did you do any q bank or q book, then share also scores on those.

Actually its my 3rd attempt and I got 420 in nbme form 2, and worst part is I don't know what I did in my exam.

Please be calm and set your self to start again, take rest, relax and come back again, you can do it.

sorry to hear this but its a part of life.

Well the best advise which I can give u is to reduce ur prep duration . I mean dont spend months and month on just step 1 . suppose if u start some topic and after 9 month you came across that Q then you will not be able to recall the thing which u read about 8 month ago. right.

Reduce your duration of just 2 or maximum two and a half month and learn as integrated subject . like when u read cell biology , also read genetic on that day. biochemistry with pharma just give 3 days . physio with patho and then anatomy with neuroscience. Beside also make a habit of reading some pages from FA daily. Lastly Do solve Q daily like 50 per day as you manage. I ONCE AGAIN WILL SAY THAT YOU MAIN PROBLEM WAS YOU STUDY FOR TOO LONG A PERIOD. It good to have a revison but make sure that you revise the topic quickly .

Hope this will help you

GOOD LUCK

Thank you for all
I did not do any NBME but I took kaplan Qbank and I was scoring average of 55.Also scored 50 on Kaplan full simukated test.
I somewhat knew my preparation was just averrage but my circumstances did not permit me to postpon the test.

Star, the reason I prepared for 9 monts was that I work full time and am a father of two small kids and it is hard to do more than 3 to 4 hours a day. But you are right after 2 or 3 subjetc revewed I almst forget everything about the first one and so on.I agree that at least one full revew for all subject should be within a short period.
One of the ther mistakes I did was that I did not do too much Q towards the end.
Another mistake was that my plan of study was a bit clumsy as I did not stick to my plan and kept changing schedule again and again.

I will put some summary of self assessed mistakes that one could avoid for the future test takers and wil make some comment about the exam.
Thanks for sharing this with me, I feel less depressed that I can talk about my failure now.
