a 33 yr old woman comes to the physician bcz of palpitations,restlessness,sweating,weightloss, and a tremor for past 3 weeks.She does not drink coffee,tea,soda,alchohol and she doesnot smoke.Her temp is 98.6,pulse is 90 and BP is 130/80.Ex reveals a fine tremor,lid lag,and perotibial edema.Thyroid gland is diffusly enlarged ,asymmetric and lobular.A burit is present over the gland.lab show an un detectable level of TSG.very high thyroid hormones and increased RAIU.The diagnosis of Graves is made and treatment options r discussed with the pt.The pt selects radioactive iodine therapy.This pt is at increased risk of which of the following conditions>

A.cholestasis

B.granulocytopenia

C.hypothyroidism

D.recurrent laryngeal nerve damage

E.thyroid Ca.

do u guys know how radioactive iodine cause hypothyroidism?
