"Physician Registration in Ontario - Recent change in policy Physicians returning to the Province of Ontario (only) can apply for independent registration (licensure) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario using two new policies: (1) the "Exam Equivalencies" policy, which states that "The United States Medical Licensing Examination or USMLE from 2004 onward is considered equivalent to the MCCQE parts 1 and 2." (2) the "Exemptions for Candidates from ACGME-accredited Postgraduate Training Programs" which allows for physicians who have completed ACGME-accredited training and passed the US specialty examination to apply for independent registration (licensure) subject to their participation in quality assurance, professional development, and peer assessment. Contact the College directly for complete information or visit the website www.cpso.on.ca" This is on the health Canada website. http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/hcs-sss/pubs/care-soins/20...
