Hi,
I am Canadian citizen at an FMG school. I just passed USMLE step 1 and haven't started any clinical clerkships in the US yet (I haven't graduated with an MD yet). My question is about the Canadian exams.
1) When should I write the MCCEE and EQ1? I haven't started studying for Step 2 yet. Should I study for the MCC exams before I have even started clerkships? Would I understand any of the material without having started clerkships rotations at all?
2) Should I have the Canadian exams completed by the time I apply for US residency? Will that increase my chances for the US visas? Or can I wait until while I am in residency in the US to write the Canadian exams.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
