yeah drlooli...i got that one too.....i stand exactly where u are now...i dont think theres much a chance that more iv's are coming and i just want to do great with my 2 calls.....

.....however, the fact that the program states that they are just starting reviewing the applications kinda opens the door to think that maybe there are more programs (mostly uni) that would do the same....so...let's keep a good spirit and maybe not really "hope" for good things to happen but rather PLAN to make good things happen with what we already got (1,2 or 3 iv's)...and if by any chance more iv's come......great!.....

Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me how the interview for patho residency goes? Approx how many people interview you for each program and do they ask us any subject questions or just general background questions? Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks

Most common model is:

8-9am: morning conference
9a-12pm: faculty interview (normally 30min each)
12pm: lunch with residents
After lunch: tour or more faculty interviews

It depends on programs that how many interviewers will interview you, normally 4-5.

Tour could be in any convenient time. For many times, only one applicant is interviewed for each day, but it could be a group.

Questions are all about your background, why pathology, why here, your goals, your research and how much you know about this specialty. No subject Q at all. Try to sense their taste and tailor your answer a little differently to different programs.

Thank you very much for your response. I have a couple of interviews coming up this week.

I have a friend who recently done with her residency, I'm afraid,it's true, now she started her fellowship to be able to find a job. In some states, you have to have at least one fellowship to be able to find a job. The job market is not as good as other specilities like IM or FP.
