Thanks, DrLooli

I thought about these that I applied to 50 programs and how many rejections I will received in the next two months. It is very hard to start your day with 2 rejections waiting in your e-mail box.

BUT I still believe it is too early to give up. And all we need is the final one. And we will approve that their choice is right.

If someone out there has the power to decide the interview candidate, please give us(IMG) a chance. We work much harder than most students and it is a long way for us to get to this point. And many of you were IMG before.

Amen to That!

Hey guys, our thread is pretty quiet. Anyone else getting any interviews for patho? It would give us an idea if programs are reviewing and we may still get called or if programs are keeping it quiet while reviewing. Let's help eachother out here.

Good luck to all the patho junkies out there! May you be matched to the program of your choice - MATCH 2007!

Hi, i still havent heard anything from the pathology front...just applied to NJ and NY programs...should i start calling them up?or continue waiting????

  #57

I have received 3 rejections so far, nothing else!

I 've only applied to 30 programs.

I'm driving myself and my husband crazy, checking my messages on MyERAS every couple minutes. It's not healthy at all. I still have to study for step 2 ck, and I'm moving like a turtle!

Good Luck to us all

Pray for me!

Hang in there DrLooLi.....for that matter....hang in there to everyone on this thread. It sounds like there are many programs still reviewing and that they are still gathering data on everyone. Also, they are probably working on the AMGs first. If that is the case, let's take a deep breath. It'll happen.

The waiting is a killer....but it won't be like this forever. Plus, many of us are in the same boat, which means you are not going through this alone.

Just think.....when we are in residency and we look back at this time, we will know that it was all worth it. We have worked too hard and sacrificed too much to start losing our marbles now! Take a deep breath and let it out. Be brave.

Someone posted this sig line in their post on another thread. Thanks for posting it. I can't remember which doctor posted it....sorry man...you deserve a big thanks.

Received three calls in one day: UT southwestern, UCLA, and UC Davis.

Seems Pahology just started to distribute invitations.

Good luck to you all!

  #61

Good Luck Evemimi.

Although I think it will be a little while before they start contacting people after the MSPEs are released.

Good Luck to everyone on this forum and outside!

Congratulations DrLooLi & Evemimi! This is good news for all of us. Thanks for keeping us updated so we feel like SOMETHING is happening instead of feeling dead in the water!

Let us know how the interviews go. I, for one would really appreciate you sharing your experiences.

Good luck to all the patho junkies out there! DrLooLi & Evemimi, we are rooting for you. May you be matched to the program of your choice - MATCH 2007! nodnodnod

Hi Will, thanks so much for all your good wishes!!

Best luck to you all!

I will have my 1st interview in next wk. Will let you guys know how it goes. I have scheduled all my interviews very early although I heard the later the better.

Does anyone know the job market of Pahology? I have heard from someone who already in this field say it is hard for the residents to find jobs. They have to do one or tow or three fellowships. Nowadays it seems fellowships are necessary. Is it true?

  #66

hi guys,

I am a IMG and will be applying for path next year (yet to take my steps).
can u guys give me an idea that
1.do we get H-1 visa in path or its just J-1 and then we have to do a waiver job.
2. are there any waiver jobs in path?

thanks in advance

  #67

I have no idea pathhopeful, I'm sorry..

On another note, here's a rejection from Iowa, KYU and Loyola.. in the past week.

and an on hold or acknowledgment or I don't know what that was from Tomas Jefferson: says that my application has been reviewed and that no further action on my part is required at this time, they will notify me if any further information is required.

Hope that's a good thing !!..sad

So far, one interview from Albany medical center which I think either nobody applied to, or the forum is just dead for the time being..

Anyway, good luck to you guys..

Rejection.
U of Pennsylvania.

Our Residency Selection Committee met recently to review all files received
from ERAS thus far. Over the past five years we have had an ever increasing
number of well qualified applicants applying for our limited positions, with
some 20 applicants competing for each opening. Naturally, due to time
constraints, we are unable to invite all applicants to interview. Although
the Committee was impressed with your background, I regret to inform you that
we will not be inviting you to interview with us this year.

We greatly appreciate your interest in our program and wish you luck in
locating a position elsewhere.

With regards,

Mary Ann Broda
Manager of Medical Education
Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania

I thought I was too sad

HaHaa, Kidding, I knoe they send rejection letters with the famous phrase, "we were impressed with your background" to everyone.

Yup, I also knew that probably a whole bunch of people received the same letter. But I guess it's still better to get at least a rejection instead of no response at all. More than 20 progs still did not send either an invitation or rejection.

  #73

You're right.

I have 46 unanswered as of yet sad

Hmm....this is a real test of patience. Anyone else heard from any other programs? I have about 35 programs that I haven't heard from yet. Trying to stay grounded, take a deep breath, and take one step at a time....but I have my moments when I am feeling a little batty! shaking head

  #75

It's normal Will..

I'm past that point, Thank God. I'm just gonna make the best out of the 2 interviews I have. and if I don't match this year, that fine.

I got one from Temple Univ. saying they're still reviewing applications at this time.

Has anyone heard from them yet?
