I agree with all of you and Apurva...
Most of all, this is the only forum free of negative energy which I find in other forums- where I meet with a lot of discouragement at times. No cynicism here at all.
This forum is a breath of fresh air every time I visit it, just keeps my hopes up and spirit smiling.

ok apurva is this sensible:-
a person with creds of 85/85/no usce or research tells others that he got an interview at an IM program in south dakota for eg, where not many people applied coz they hadnt heard about the program. then others wud rush in, the guys with >90 scores and take other interview spots. what chances will our protagonist have in the interview vis-a-vis others??????? wouldnt it have been more advantageous for him to keep the >90/90/usce IMG applicant pool for that program limted?

well u cannot just compete with yourself. its about make hay while the sun shines. an opportunity lost never comes twice.
another story:
a city was in a flood. a deeply religious man in an isolated house was stuck. suddenly, a boat with a paramilitary came for rescue. the man waived him away to the next house a mile away, saying that god would come to his rescue. then 6-7 hours later, a helicopter came. he again waved it away with the same words. a day later he died. on reaching heaven he asked god, god why didnt u come save me. GOD SAID, what did u expect? i sent u the boat. i sent u the helicopter. u actually thought that i would come personally?
miracles happen through opportunities. god helps through opportunities. destiny plays its role only if u help it along. if u keep sitting and waiting for something to happen, nothing will
so if a doctor researches well, taking pains, over days and nights, as to which programs are IMG friendly and then applies. and then gets interviews. the knowledge he gained thru research is his miracle, his opportunity
by telling others where u r interviewing, if u lose ur advantage and people with BETTER creds apply there then wont u go unmatched? then why even apply?
isnt it better to help others in everything from filling CAF, to usmles etc. but not harm ur own chances and aspirrations?

mindmentor: thatīs also true, have you visited SDN?, itīs an awful camaraderie, terrible. and thatīs what i like of this forum. itīs basically only IMGs and trying to help each other, unlike SDN.

thinking laterally i would say, IMHO, lets leave everyone do whatever they want to do. "Free will"
those who wanna post their IV calls, do so. those who dont, dont. Read everything with a pinch of salt
why moderate anything? or tell others that "Posting Interviews and Credentials Can Harm You". everyone here [as chemamr's thread in forumlounge(discovered that today - gr8 thread) shows] has IQ>120, so think on ur own...and let everyman grow to fulfills his own unique potential.

disagree with u on that chemamr, this forum is better. but that has camaradiere as well. go to the surgery residency section. i have always got help there. others seemingly do as well. its always impersonal though, unlike the gr8 prep4usmle

personally its tougher to keep the goal/path clear at all times (like arjun and the birds eye?/fish eye? wotever),and its too much of an energy drain to strategise 24/7 how can i not let anyone else even get a whiff of my thoughts/plans/bla bla....I would rather live a spontaneous,full life rather than a closeted/furtive/suscpicious/who is doing what kind of life.GL to all!

MAVERICK: yes, thatīs what i tried to say. there is camaraderie in SDN but is ĻdifferentĻ if you compare it with prep4usmle. you know what i mean. but i have also received help there.

I learnt a lot from what ppl shared on this forum. Now is my turn to share info.
Not only with my friends who r applying this year, but also with my juniors who shall apply in times to come.
And if someone is too vulnerable or weak to compete.... please do not compete at all.
and please do not bring in mistrust.

do we really have to fight over this in depth. Who want to post please post others keep it a secret. Just take it easy. I agree with Apurva, you dont know how much it hurts to see the mail from NRmp that u havent matched......
I have been a member since 2004 and you are making the forum into a battle ground. Please take this kind of atitude some place else. We have enough forums misleading people, degrading and insulting people.
I would suggest that moderators please move the topic some place else.
