You are thinking right...not too IMG friendly, costly(and sometimes a tedious) pprocess to get the California letter. Competitive programs as it is a destination for many American grads. You may have it easy as an IMG if you have a GC or citizenship.

Tx mindmentor, I actually checked the progs there and found very tough criteria for IMGs.

Cali is mostly J1 .Plus it needs the Cali letter getting which is costly and cumbersome.All said, if citerion are met it is a little more competitive than east cost coz every american graduate(meaning substanital num and not all) and rich and famous want to get into cali...but its not impossibe ...those who hav reasons to apply in cali must apply in cali..the supremo of this site,an IMG ,leads by example and is doin a res in cali
