thanks guys.it is very confusing to understand as this is the first year neuro is in the NRMP match...also i m trying my luck with int med categorical and that is the other reason why i did not accept prelim pre match.I have given two iv s and i found that neuro is also tough to get contrary to what i heard from my seniors....so best of luck to all of us...congrats to chicky...anyone heard from wayne state?

Hello Delusion,
Don't feel so downcast. Prelim invitations are rather few as the postions are competitive. What I suggest u do is call up some of the prelim programs u applied to. In addition, get your friends who are already in categorical IM or prelim in instituitions where u applied for prelim to talk to the PCs and PD. U will get some invitations that way.

thanx chicky for your advice....

Hey Delusion,
Have you tried IM programs at the hospitals where you got invitated for neuro? If you tell them that you are a potential resident in their hospital they might consider you for iv. This is what happened to me at most places, except in DC. After I got invited for neuro I got iv for prelim as well. Some prelim program said they iv me if their neuro program invites me, too otherwise they aren't interested. So I think it's worth the try!
Good Luck!

Hello everyone, for me no IV yet. I´m still waiting for a miracle or something.
I´ve applied to 29 Neuro progs and 22 Im

unfortunately, this year neurology is in regular match (not san francisco). it means that number of applications multiplies 4-5 times (mostly img but amg are trying too). so neurology is no more back-up program (like FM or peds). and if you want to get an interview you have to have top scores and other good creds (or wait for a miracle). it is right for this year at least. I believe that after a few year in regular match the most of programs will do very well with huge amount of applications and they will check ALL creds not only scores.

  #162

well i think more applicants are using it as a back up program since it is more "accessible" to apply to neuro now its under nrmp. i would think that other imgs would try their luck just to get a visa though they don't really like neuro. no offense meant. but this was a comment from someone I know in a neuro program. she told me they are being swamped with applications. i notice that people got fewer interviews compared to last year.

Good luck to all of us.

if someone had IVs this year:
- any special inreview tips for neurology
- did they ask any special/unusial Qs?

  #164

Review the application at University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. They will answer after Dec. 1st.

Rejection from Sparrow Health System/Michigan State University Michigan.

How about you guys? Have you received the same from Peoria.
