hi guys
was off this forum for a few days as i was trying to learn black magic these days (to increase iv calls)
but that's not proving much to my use as my mail box reveals rejections only these days frm neurology programs.... but its good that apllied for too many programs so i can bear it easily for atleast few months @ 2 rejections per day.....
neways its good to hear encouraging posts frm fellas on this forum...

applied to univ maryland too.. ill be needing j1 also.. but no reject as of now. how about h1? is it still feasible to apply to some more programs? hehe. i applied to 37 by the way

Hello Guys,
I have applied to Maryland, too. No words yet.
I don't need visa, I have a work permit (similar to GC, but it's a non-immigrant thing )...
This waiting is killing me...
I am espcially nervous about prelim year. I only got 1 IV for prelim position... and even if I matched for neuro what would one do without a PGY-1 position????
All the neuro programs that invited me are advanced programs starting in 2008.....

hey murfurc... yeah i have no interview from prelim!!!! although my interview in neuro is an integrated program... just one. thats it. is it advisable to contact and follow-up your application?

That is good Gulliermo, I mean that your program is integrated. The only integrated program that I got invited to emailed me saying that they are changing their policy and they will only offer advanced positions....  What a bummer!
Anyways, what do you mean by " contact and follow-up your application? " ?
I will start calling programs next week. 1 week after they got the dean letters for AMGs... Now they should have all the info they need to make a decision.... Well, I keep my fingers crossed.
Have you called any program yet?
Also keep in mind that Iv can come 1. through ERAS 2.as an email (not through ERAS) 3. in regular mail 4. via phone. I got IVs in all these ways. I was most surprised by the phone call...
So keep that in mind!!!

Thanks mufurc, yeah I always check ERAS and my mail daily, i even check my junk mail just to make sure. What I mean by that is calling the program and asking about the status of your application. Because I heard some programs hate it when applicants do that. So probably I'll try calling next week also. or maybe the week after next.

I honestly don't think most programs will hate it if an applicant calls this november to ask about the status of their application. I have actually heard from a few friends that are currently in residency programs that the PCs and PDs who are wavering regarding who to invite take a polite enquiry as a sign of geniune interest in the program.
I got a rejection from U of Chicago.That hurt after I had spent some extra money 2 weeks ago applying to prelim in Weiss and U. of Chicago internal medicine like they requested we do. But U can't win them all.

thanks chicky.. got another reject from u.pittsburgh. well its a big and real good program so i kind of expected it already.. but still another $25 wasted haha....

hey guelliermo
have you figured out something that i have noticed.... man we are gettin rejections frm same programs and i'm sure that its not coincidence.....
well my suspicion seems to be right this time and they are after us....i'm having delusional perception these days as i get paranoid after seeing any word starting from alphabet M............. i have stopped eating MNM chocolates due to the same.........
well i thought i got rid of my pathological gambling but it seems putting money in this match has been the biggest gamble i have played ..... but again i think that its worth givin a try for the sake of neurology....
just lemme know if you see UFO'S or people following you, wearing clothes with alphabets M..........and also search for any transmitters stuck to your clothes.....
