hi chaf! which hospital invited you for interview? i have one from st. louis, but i got that invites 2 weeks ago. then no rejects no invites up to now.

Hey Delusion and other Neuro-fans,
here is my first-week review:
1 interview (Univ of Buffalo) :-) I heard great things about them so I am very excited about this!!
1 rejection ( Medical Coll. of Georgia: did not even read LORs or checked USMLE scores... I guess it might not be the most IMG friendly neuro-program...)
1 Pseudo invitation by Vanderbilt. ... I was also in the bunch who got the "you are invited... oh wait... not at this time" emails...
Well, that was not fun, but I understand, these things can happen...

How many of the programs you applied to downloaded your application? For me it's 23/25. Programs in DC won't take a look at my application... Maybe they can't take IMGs...

Hey Mufurc,
thanks for sharing info... i have received four rejections and one interview as yet. Got an email frm Uni. of Rochester stating that my application will be kept on file but no interview offered ?? But amazingly no calls frm Prelim Internal Med Programs..It seems that peak interview time is appraoching and lets wait for this week to start with..

hey guys,
If u get an invitation email from a program saying "you are selected for an interview and we will contact you soon with the dates" should you reply to that email saying thanx or how excited you are about getting an interviw. OR should you just wait for them to email u again with interview dates and then contact them.
I really like to know if anyonne has experience with this. thanx

wat is vanderbilts score requirements. Is it an integrated program and r they past their deadlines?

Hi Vijay,
Vanderbilt is not an intergrated program. It starts from PGY2. there is nothing on their website about minimum score requirements and deadline for application. U should call the program coordinator on 615 936 1567 to find out more about that.

Heads-up:
(I just got the info)
Hopkins starts reviewing applications tomorrow (10/13) , Emory and Yale will start the selection process 11/1 ... That means that ( most likely) programs are just "collecting data" right now and not even evaluating candidates yet...

Hello IMG-neuro-loving fellows!
I visited an other site for neuro interview updates, experience, etc... (not very friendly one, not very helpful either, THIS IS THE BEST SITE by far!!! ) anyways, that site is for AMGs, or at least they are the ones sharing info there... Well, it seems to me that programs are inviting AMG already and we are only on their backup list.... Which is understandable, (that's what I would do if I were a PD) it just broke my heart and I needed to vent a bit.... 
Well, I hope programs will give us a chance, too!!

well yeah, thats quite expected. but from my review of their sites. a lot of programs have a significant number of imgs. i dont know exactly know how interpret that hehe. but its mid october already.. i really hope more interviews will come

Few questions, and notes that my application will be reviewed after Nov.1....
I guess after they can't find better (or just any more) AMGs...

I got invited to winconsin, buffalo and washington. for prelim umndj-cooper.
for all the neuro fan I suggest we put our credentials and the places where we were invited and rejected.
I was rejected from mayo , yale , pittsburg for neuro and drexel ,and arizona for IM
I presented ck last week. passed cs and step1 99. one month usce and 3 us lor.

I am still waiting for the first two weeks of Nov.

first two weeks of novmeber? is that the peak perior for neurology programs? havent been receiving any info for 2 weeks already. no rejections no interviews no "on-hold"
credentials ecfmg certified. 85/86/75 some neuro resideny in my country. 2 publications. 2002 grad..
