is splenomagaly a feature or not?

i think that the child has ITP from the Hx of viral infection.

large platelets = younger PLT's from bone marrow from increased production

No splenomegaly

ITP
In most of the cases there is No splenomegaly, that is what I have learnt...they say that if there is splenomegaly you can exclude the diagnosis of ITP but according to recent publications however Splenomegaly is reported in about 10% of children with ITP, Its presence in a child with thrombocytopenia usually suggests a more serious underlying disease such as leukemia or Iron deficiency.
Study_ing, I am sure of this fact but do not have evidence to prove it, I do not want to dwell into what i know because the exams are fast approching....but if you too can supprt this fact then we can move ahead smiling face

for exams I guess ITP no splenomegaly...what do u think wink

well the diagnosi is scorrect. i got confused about the splenomegaly. me to t it should be absent but i di a q in which it waas mentioned.
