Hi... I'd like to know the experience from people who took score95 question bank and notes from www.score95.com, I've never heard of it, but I've seen good testimonials about it. Anybody?

  #2

never heard of it!

I just signed up for it and so far it seems really good...There are a ton of questions I didn't have to pay very much.

Yeah, I used score95. I thought it was great. I passed my exam with an 88. The questions are very much like the ones that you will see on the exam and I thought the high-yield note sets went into the depth that was required for you to know to achieve a high pass.

  #5

I think I have posted this before, but I had a friend who did and she didn't have anything negative to say. She said it was just like any of the other reviews, just less money.

  #6

thank you guys!

  #7

I also recently enrolled in their review. Their note sets are very complete and I have actually bought some of the other reviews out there and I didn't think they were necessarily better than Score95

Compared w/ kaplan Qbank? How would you comment on this? It seems like evryone has a positive comment on this new sets of Q's.

Question for those who have tried Score95:

Can you do subjects by topics? For example, if I am studying right now chapter Cell injury and death, can I pick questions just on this topic from the bank?

Or, do you know other Q-banks that would let me to customize not only by subject but also bythe topic within the subject?

  #10

I started going through the questions today and all the questions are divided into topics and subdivided into subcategories so if you wanted to study GI pathology you can do so.

I looked and their is not a specific category for "Cell injury and death" but there is a category that relates to the cell. I assume their is probably some questions in their about cell injury and death, but I didn't look.

I actually had bought the kaplan question bank previously and there are features in the Kaplan Q-bank that are not in Score95 but I couldn't really afford to get another subscription to the kaplan bank as I still wanted to study more before I took my exam.

  #12

i guess it a great site..with a very cheap price as well!...i am waiting to subscribe on december ..thats according to my time table...but i wont hesistate abt it ..come on 6 months for 100usd...thats 600 egyptians le....i can ditch 3 night outings to get it

Cool picture! I just listened to Score95's daily podcast production. They try and cover one topic everyday and its free to whoever wants to listen. The exact address is podcast.score95.com

Thanks, spiffymax and others for info. I was waiting to finish 1 st read before buying Kaplan-qbank but I think I can afford score95 to practice during my 1st read. My problem is I won't retain material if I don't reinforce right away with solving questions.

  #15

Yeah, its a good idea to have some questions to practice from as you make your first read through the kaplan books, but don't bother reading the kaplan pathology book. That book is the weakest in that set. Use the high-yield pathology notes in Score95. They are more complete.

  #16

That is so true about the Kaplan Pathology book. Pathology is probably the most tested topic on the USMLE STEP 1 and their book is the skinniest. What gives?

  #17

Hi I need help from people who have taken score 95
1. Not from cost point of view but time -- IS IT worth the TIME?
should we concentrate on Kaplan / Usmleworld

  #18

I think it is worth the time. Previously I had said that I had purchased the kaplan Q-bank and now I am going through Score95's qbank and I think the quality of questions are the same. I didn't get Usmleworld b/c everyone told me their questions were too short, they didn't mimick what you would see on the real exam.

  #19

Thank you
The audio posted daily is pretty good
by Dr. Walker

Are the notes that good
I mean do they explain pathophysiology
There are no general path topics and gen anat is not in detail

No Medical Genetics

  #20

I can't believe it! I was having a hard time raising my score from Kap Qbank to 60% but when I started doing score95 , my score was consistently 76-80% per block. I think the questions are quite simple but high yield in score95? I EXTREMELY WISH questions in the real exam will be like it.

Any feedback on this Pls...

  #21

Yeah, the questions are of similar degree of difficulty and length. If you are doing 76-80% per block in kaplan q-bank you should not have a problem with Step 1.

The pathology notes in Score95 are much better than the kaplan book. It is true that their General Anatomy notes are thin and when I used their review I asked them the same thing, but they told me they try to integrate anatomy into the pathology notes as most anatomy on the usmle is related to a pathological state.

Explaining pathophysiology: I don't know of any textbooks that explain pathophysiology only. Their is usually a pathophysiology note in pathology note sets.

  #22

RachelAlexander, my 76-80% is not Kap Qbank, I mean it for score95 test questions.
I was having a hard time w/ kap qbank... My scores were frustrating. What do you think of the score95 q's? Are they both of same difficulty? I thought score95 was easier.

  #23

Hi
Thanks for your comments
I still feel that Rachel you are probably one of the employees of score95
Looking at the posts you have made so far

The site may be good but i need some more neutral reviews please who compare this with Kaplan.

As for Kaplan notes I know what they are - Score 95 topics
may /may not adress pathophysiology or clinical correlation seen in new kaplan notes
and Carlos Ayalas pathophysiology book
Rachel can you tell me about your sources and duration and whether u have used Kaplan Q bank or no???

  #24

I have the kaplan books too. They are good, but I do agree that the kaplan path book is not that good. I went to the Kaplan live lecture in Illinois and when Dr. Goljan taught his week of pathology he told us to throw the kaplan pathology book out and use his book. I thought that was funny.

  #25

I just got my scores back and I passed! I am going to drink a beer tonight!
