Hey BBB,
You've seen a lot of Med Grads got thru the Invite-Interview-Match-Residency cycle for a while now. And that's the #1 reason that you will be the best person to request an answer to this query of mine (others are welcome to post too)
What is the criteria a Program (let's say your program) uses to call candidates?
1. Is it that the American Grads are called out first followed by Green Card holders followed by those who do not need a visa sponsored and finally those who need one?
2. Over how many days/weeks/months is this spaced? (AMG call out date to IMG neeeding Visa)
2. How many Interview invites does a program typically send out?

doc_reeves- After applying to 110 IM programs with scores of
92/98/pass/ All 1st attempts /2 months USCE/2USLOR
I got only 1 interview. St. Barnabas!
After all the efforts we invest towards these exams, does that 1 interview even make sense, friends ?
It's not that I applied to hi-fi programs... (Community>Univ)
It's not that interviews aren't being sent out from the ones I applied to... (Eg; St Francais)
It's not that I don't have good scores...
It's not that I have no USCE...
Does my not taking Step 3 make such a HUGE difference, when I have mentioned to the programs that I am OK with a H1 or a J1?

1)tRUE TO QUITE AN EXTENT ..amgs ARE PREFERRED NO DOUBT ABOUT IT..IF TWO PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR CREDENTIALS -ONE WITH GREEN CARD OR NO VISA ISSUE WILL BE PREFERRED...PROGRAMS ARE ALSO GIVEN TO CHOOSING A PERSON WITH OK CREDENTIALSAND GREE CARD OVER SOMEONE WITH BETTER CREDENTIALS BUT NEEDING VISA..
2)NO IDEA
3)go TO FREIDA ..EACH PROGRAM SENDS OUT A SURVEY TO FREIDA PEOPLE WHICH IS POSTED IN THE RESPECTIVE PROGRAMS LINK IN FREIDA...THE NUMB OF PGY1 SPOTS AND INTERVIEW CAN BE FOUND IN THE SURVEY REPORT

doc_reeves,i hope u get as many interviews as u want,and i hope coming days be good for u ,and for every one else,plz dont panic and appreciate tht ur questions got serios and mature answers frm laptop,these r tough days for most of us and we shud not forget tht this too shall pass ,and we shud try to make good memories.
