Hi ppl,
here to join you. Scores in mid 90's/cs passed. Need H1. No usce, No us lors. Applied to 83 I.M programs though a little too late. But still expecting atleast something from the programs, may it be a rejection letter.......

I only got 9 rejections, 5 "sorta waitings...." Should I email the programs, or are they sending them to you on their own?

Didn't know they send rejections via snail mail!!!! Just got one today from Indiana Univ.
It was very thoughtful rejection letter, even though it got my hopes up initially!!

Well i did email programs.out of the 45 emails,i got 5 on holds and 3 rejects.maybe calling wud be better.

I would advise you to wait. DON'T CALL'EM. Even if this silence is a killer for your harmony, impatience can be a killer for your application.

Remember, we are expected to get call until mid january!!!!! We still have more than 3 months left and most prog just started calling for iv. All those people who already received many iv as of today are top applicants. the good news is, although they are the majority of the chating population (a 99 scorer is more likely to write about his performance than a 75 scorer) they are the minority of the whole applicant's population, AMG and IMG included. Most of the Gauss curve is represented by normal applicant's who have not received iv yet or, in the best cases, are receiving their first iv these days.
What I think: from the beginning of the appl season to end october, only applicants with mid to high 90s, GC, citizenship and recent graduation could get iv. This is the top applicant's population.
the normal applicant has his iv season from end october to january.

i guess wamba is right.its all abt patience now.!!its when people get their prematches and high scorers start cancelling their interviews due to feasibility will we get calls.lets hang on for a lil longer..secondly i think most of the posts are by high scorers coz they have the most activity to write abt.while we just wait for somethin to pop into our mailbox..

hi, guys, i applied total 25 IM programs. all my documents have been downloaded by programs. so far, 3 rejection. the rest is total silence. does it mean i am completely out? should i contact program by email or just wait? thanks for any advice.

Let me explain my nervousness a little: I have read on this and other forums, "I've gotten 10 ivs, is it over for me?" and let me tell you, it makes those who really haven't gotten ANYTHING very nervous. Then, we hear "Eh, the storm is over." Then we hear, "Wait till the MPSE thingies" come out... Then we hear, "I've received 30 rejections so far, but 20 interviews."
Well, let me tell you, I haven't received one interview. I haven't received even a rejection in the last 2 weeks. I have 5 on holds. Other than that - nothing. So if I seem panicky, it's because I am. Tension is mounting, I'm nearly going out of my mind.
I've applied to 100 programs, even in fields that are "IMG friendly."
I am sick.... Sick of this match -- this is supposed to be "the world's most unpartisan job-application process?" What a load of bull.
Good people, left and right, aren't being considered because of something "unpartisanly" bad. Which is the filter-criteria for most programs. What a messed up world...
Ugh, I'm going to bed now. Totally disgusted and disheartened for about the 330th time today.

SPEBEETO, 100 progs, no iv and 5 rejections is not a great situation but it isn't a drama as well. The good thing is you haven't been rejected from 95% of the progs you applied to. Therefore, you can still receive iv.
We are in the same boat, even if I already have iv. I also have very few rej. I havent received iv from programs that are contacting people here in the forum. but I havent receive rej neither although they have been rejecting many applicants for the last weeks. What does it mean? that probably my application hasnt been reviewed yet. Until I dont get rej, I'm COOL.
I'm not aiming to 20 iv as it is almost impossible to attend them all. REMEMBER, most of the top applicants who receive 15-20 iv usually cancel some of them, in part because some iv are back ups, because they can't afford all the traveling or for other reasons. We dont' need to get too many iv. To me, the most important thing is a good preparation. Even if you have only 2, be prepared for the iv day and you will make it.

I understand the frustration and i totally agree with spbeebto- when ppl who have 5 intervies come and complain, it just is demoralizing.... I used to get frustrated when I read posts like this -" my scores are 90/ 94, GC holder or 3 months USCE, publications/ research, what are my chances" and I felt that if ppl with scores in 90s or USCE or GC are asking about their chances, what hope is there for people who have low scores or no USCE...
BUT.... US residency is what our aim is... it is not an easy road and with average scores it is more difficult, but every year lots of ppl with similar situation match.. we will too if we keep trying...
I applied to 110 IM programs and 30 rejections so far and all of them9 except abington ) said, that you meet our criteria but we have 2000 applications.... Crozer Chester emailed me yest saying that even though you meet our requirements; our interview slots are filled...
what can one say.. pray and hope

well spebeeto.life is strange.just had a email from peds program conneticut saying that the previous rej email which we sent is wrong.please disregard it.we are still considering applications...!!!so i guess anything is possible.

Usually I have consolation words for everybody. Not in this case. Truth to be said, I have 0 iv too, and 5 or 6 on holds, and I can't keep up my hopes because there's a great chance that on-holds might email me pretty soon, saying-sorry, can't consider Your application because of tremendous number of applicants applied...
I'm very depressed too.
