i agree with speeboto. almost everyone on here says they got in high 90's on boards. and they are not getting interviews. its more than just board scores. someone can be totally book smart or have a photographic memory, but have a terrible bed side manner, or cant speak english well, or have bad lor's. and then we think that if those img's got in hight 90's why havent they matched or prematched that scares us. well i think we should keep the hope still. its not over. and listening to bbb its just about to begin. especially after november 1st when they get the mspe. yeah everyone would love to get interviews and if we dont, then guess what, there is the scramble still. lol. its a shame its like that all programs want all teh top board scores applicants, but then they dont fill their spots. lol. and the programs have to scramble to find us. they realize that some of these top people dont have people skills or they just suck in general. well if we get no interviews lets dominate in teh scramble. atleast look at is we didnt have to go thru the interivew process and still ended up in residency through scramble. and then we are all on an even playing field come next july. so does it matter if we get in through the scramble and the guy next to us interviewed at ten places and got his ninth choice. lol. well hope this makes people smile.

why scramble will favor ppl with no iv? i understand scramble's like winning a lottery (and that's the reason everyone cough up so much money to go to ivs), what're ur thoughts?

to lookin4residency ,
I do not agree with you. Scores are the most important thing in this race. And I really doubt that Nov. 1 will change something in this bad statictics. This is just fake hope for people like me. If you have low scores/multiple attempts there is no chance to match this year except may be in community FM program.

serhiy, good score in step 3 would increase your chances.
How many programs did you apply?

be realistic. do you know many people who got low scores on step 1/2 and top score on step 3? I applied to 92 programs.

  #186

Serhiy......I'm also thinking I should not put my hopes so high about Nov 1 and afterwards...I'm not sure anymore...

  #187

hi, guys, no reply for me? should i send email to programs to ask for my application status or just wait? please kindly give me advice.

  #188

kindly wait.i tried emails and not much luck though.cant comment on phone calls.

Hope is the only thing we have. Yes, we are too many applicants for few places available; yes, many applicants are very competitive, have high 99/99, GC, recent graduation, etc. Yes, we will probably not get 20 iv. But you know what? I will be very happy for the iv I wil get, might they be just 2 or 5. If you prepare properly to 2 iv you can make it. If you don't to 20 iv, you won't make it. MENTAL PREP is the clue.

And as I said before, as long as they don't reject me, I'm cool.

I do absolutely understand the frustration that everyone of you is having cause its been just a few days since i applied and the silence is deafeningsad
But the most imp. thing is to keep the kool. Till yesterday i kept on checking my mail every few min. but now realise things are gonna happen slow or maybe never will.

All i am gonna do is look at the positives. If i dont match, next year i am gonna come out with all guns blazing and loads of UCSE+ Research and whatever i can lay my hands on!!!!!!!!!!!! Apply to exclusively uni. pro. and hey look back upon next year as a reward vacation for my efforts till date.....winkwinkwinkwinkwinkwink

Keep it kool and keep it going ppl. What i have described is the worst that can happen and still it doesnt look all that bad!!!!!!!!!

How encouraging drkpp.

I had the same thought, but then again, that's a whole year lost not settling down some place at least where I know I'll be for 3-4 years. We have alot of pending plans because of my unknown future!

I still don't have a single interview, and I still check my messages like a freak.

God! I hope this has a pleasant ending eventually!
