I just spoke with ERAS about changing the PS after applying to programs. Once a document has been sent to a program even if you deassign it and assign a different one, the program gets both of them. There is no way of taking the first one back. So beware! Now my program has two PSs, Well they only differ by a phrase but that says a lot... and not good things...

Best of luck to all of you!

We already know that. If it has been already received by the program, then they will get both old and new one.

Anyway thanx for posting this info for everyone in the forum.

FROM ERAS-TRACK DOCUMENTS FAQ

I deassigned a Personal Statement (or Letter of Recommendation), why was it sent?

When a document is assigned to a program to which you have already applied, you can no longer make changes to that specific document. The document(s) is scheduled for delivery, the same concept as placing the document in the mailbox and mailing it, you would not be able to get it back. If you wish to assign another document in its place, then the program will download both documents. However, the new document will overwrite the old document. Depending on the length of time between the unassigning of the old document and the reassigning of the new document, the program typically will not have access to the old document, unless, they have already printed out a hard copy of that particular document. If you want to make a change, you must de-assign the original document; create a new LOR record or Personal Statement, and assign the new document in place of the old document.

One personal example, hope it helps:
Personal Statement 5 AVAILABLE 09-19-2006 07:45 pm DOWNLOADED 09-20-2006 09:12 am Personal Statement 6 09-20-2006 07:45 am 09-20-2006 09:16 am

If program printed my PS between 912 and 916 am, then they will have a copy of old version.

It shouldnt happen unless there is guruchu interference, and laptop will surely protect us from that, right laptop?

GOOD LUCK TO ALL.

what is guruchu

This is the key sentence. However, the new document will overwrite the old document

As a program I will never see two personal statements at the same time.
