how to go about for clinical experience in US for IMG, does any hospital lets u work with them pre USMLE?

Without even USMLE exams? It becomes all the more difficult. Although, if you haven't graduated yet you can look for clinical clerkships which I've heard are relatively easy to find.

what i fail to understand is, u are given preference in matcing if have some clinical experience of working in US hospitals, but how can an IMG have any work experience PreUSMLE? as we are not licensed by the Govt of USA to work there pre exams? Plz also highlight the concept of observership

i think all they wanna see is if you have been inside a hospital in this country...i started out by volunteering and learned a lot through observation...little things like billing and coding is what is going to throw us, not how much medicine we know...that is why some hospitals cannot be bothered with us...it takes more personnel to train us (for real)!

You are forgetting about a good portion of IMG's that are U.S citizens. Some of us went to Caribbean medical schools and have done all 72 weeks of our clinicals in the U.S. That is how you get 1 year of experience.
