I am an IMG. I have already passed USMLE step2. Now I am preparing for USMLE step1 and I am intending to appear for step 1 in September 2004. If I take this exam in September 2004, result would be announced in October ( most probably ). My question is would enough time be left then, for me to appear & pass the step2-CS ( formerly CSA) exam in time ? I want to participate in 2005 match. I am also wondering if I would be able to register for & take step 2-CS in October 2004 ?? Is it possible to register for step2-CS now before passing step 1? I am afraid I may not be able to get a registration slot /seat in October if I apply in the same month. Most probably I will be taking step 2-CS in Atlanta center. Please advise me regarding this matter.

Check with the USMLE web site and the ERAS or NRMP web sites for more information regarding time lines. Depending on the program, they may want you ECFMG eligible at the interview or at the Match time.
