as im readin through FA antihypertensive drugs, it hits me what does sympsthoplegic means, and is it different from sympathomimetic, i tried every possible source i could look through but could not find the answer. as in FA almost every drug is written under the headin of sympsthoplegic ....... can u guys plz help me throught his simple problem im havin

HI literally means "paralysis Sympathetic outflow",these include Clonidine, methyldopa, guanethidine, hexamethanium, reserpine, prazosin, beta-blockers they are different from sympathomimetics which causes hypertension and definitely contraindicated in hypertension!!!!!!! if u need more explanations (illustration and figures) mail me drfax@hotmail.com I hope u a good score
