  #175

Thank you for considering the UMKC Internal Medicine Residency Program. All of our current positions are filled. In the past, we looked for scores of 210 or higher or approximately 85% on both steps I & II and you must be ECFMG certified by the time of rank. For the 2007 match, we accept applications only through ERAS. You must have graduated from medical school within the last 5 years and have had patient contact within the last two years. U.S. clinical experience is helpful but not a requirement. We sponsor J1 visas and currently sponsor H1B’s (a topic under discussion). Approximately 3/4 of our residency consists of IMG's. We offer 9 Preliminary positions and 18 Categorical positions every academic year beginning July 1. We do not offer Observerships or Externships in our program. Our deadline for receiving applications is December 1, 2006 but apply early for we have a limited number of interview reservations available. Check out our website at www.med.umkc.edu/education/residency. Good luck in your residency search.
