Its been that way for few years now.Its a good Img friendly program but they dont sponsor visas. If you have green card its the best.

Apurva is right; it's such a good program so even well prepared AMGs fight for it. but don't worry yet!

hey mooz - u will defin get an call bcoz of ur prior work with them. use ur contacts and gl agree with crista previously henry ford wasnt super competitive as amgs preferred to avoid the rumble and tumble of detroit and the program built its stellar rep. now with more amgs divertin to IM and the better than most uni level training - its a hot cake. and i dont think st barnabas will ever become a "too good" program regardless of whether or not u need a visa henry ford rocks have 3 seniors there and they are all super satisfied with the training. they say that its the 2nd best im prog in michigan - after umich. wsu wud come in a close 3rd. and will beaumont 4th.

i received that mail from henry ford (Internal medicine) that this year they will only give J1. i donīt know specifically for pathology but i have the idea that hospitals sponsor the same visas for all the specialities.

Hey Apurva, I got an interview call from St. barnabas. why did u say that "it will never become a too good program"? I have a 5 month old baby. If at all possible, I would like to be a little selective about interviews. I would greatly appreciate the help.

well madam lets say that unless ur out lookin for a visa and dont have other options - then its a place where u can do ur 3yrs and never get taught and be happy to pass the boards and get on with life as an internal medicine attending with very little chance of a fellowship. also pls b careful about livin in the area esp if ur a woman with a baby - im sure ppl who currently live in ny will b able to guide u better. be prepared to get a prematch and have decided beforehand what u will do with it. see scutwork reviews for more details. gl
