Dear all/ BBB
I am an IMG, with 1 month observership , J/H visa required with poor scores 82/76/pass/79 in the USMLE. I have applied to 75 Programs(FM+IM+ 10 Peds). I am really really scred will I get any interview calls.......Its been 15 days since I applied. I have heard nothing form any program yet.I have seen people with good scores in late 80s to late 90s always post messages in the forum.about their interviews etc. But no one with poor scores posting any thing. So today I thought let me ask- do people with poor scores like mine..... ever get any interview
Any suggestrions are appreciated.

MY guru mantra
bE HOPEFUL,,HAVE A POSITive outlook..relax ..DOntr be scared ..take a hot shower followed by a cold shower..
These are happy days.You are breathing all right without any pain .THe worst day will be when we wont be able to breathe comfortably.Relax dont worry ,,even for those days we have good ventillators available.Postive end expiratory ventillation can look after one in that conditionl.If situation gets worse again , then increased oxygen can maintain comfort.
Do you see any pain or worry untill you get to that stage. What i suggest is holding your breath for as long as you can..Once you have done that you will be able to define fear ,discomfort ,agony and pain yourself;and you will be the first one to say i am happy.
Sorry for the nonsense.when i am scared i talk like that

Out of 1810 applications, my PD has looked at about 100. He's selected 25 for interviews and those won't be sent until he choses about 100 for interviews - then I'll send them out.
It's still way, way early. Don't panic.

Hi BBB,
Suppose if your program sends 100-150 interview calls, would that mean that ur PD will at max review only 500-600 applications and others will go down the drain without his review.

It's the same question that I have been asking for years. Who am I?
(Seriously, if it was known what program I was in, I'd have to leave the forum, if not the country. And although my passport is valid until 2009, I don't know where I would want to live. Well, that village outside of Stuttgart keeps calling me, but I don't have any residency status to live there.)

Interaction is resident dependent. I have about 4-6 residents that I call "Stealth" because I never see them.

is it really that PD may fill all his interview slots before even he review all the applicants of early september?!!!
I wish U can answer clearly, coz that mean: 1st apply, 1st accepted (if good enough)

No - my PD hasn't barely started reviewing applications. I can't igve you my numbers completely, because then I picture people going through FRIEDA to find a program with the same number of spots as mine. And no, it's not 1st apply, 1st accepted.
That was tricky.

Imagine yourself back in the day when applications were photocopied and mailed in. You wouldn't hear anything for 3-5 weeks (if ever) after you mailed your application. Two weeks is nothing.
