sudden increase in systemic arterial blood pressure in a normal individual leads to which of the following imediate effects?

a. increase in cardiac output
b. increase in end-systolic ventricular volume
c. increase in velocity at which blood is ejected from the left ventricle
d. decrease in the left ventricular wall tension
e. decrease in end-diastolic ventricular volume


please answer with the explnations because i don't understand the question. Thanks.

Sudden increase in Afterload (BP in this scenario) causes decrease in stroke volume.We know that

Stroke volume = EDV - ESV

EDV = ( End diastolic volume )determined by venous return mainly which is normal in this patient

ESV =(End systolic volume) determined by the stroke volume mainly

ESV = EDV - Stroke volume

Since stroke volume is decreased ,ESV (end systolic volume ) is increased
