there r 4-5 major types of shock.
differential diagnosis of shock
1. with elevated left atrial pressure?
2. normal or low LAP?

1) HYPOVOLEMIC SHOCK- low LAP
2) CARDIOGENIC SHOCK-Pump failure - increased LAP
3) OBSTRUCTIVE SHOCK-Cardiac tamponade, tension pneumothorax, and massive pulmonary embolism can cause an acute decrease in cardiac output resulting in shock......> I think inc LAP
4) DISTRIBUTIVE SHOCK-
a) Septic shock
b) Anaphylactic shock
c) Neurogenic shock
d) Vasodilator drugs
e) Acute adrenal insufficiency
all should have dec LAP

if right heart strain only, what wud u expect LAP to be?
