hi everybody, i have a doubt regarding nrmp. In the nrmp match, how many colleges are we allowed to rank. is it only 10 or you can rank all the hospitals that you interview at?

as first thirty is free, everyone would like to rank all his/her better interviews. its a choice to be made, how many and which one u are interested in.

no # limit, the first 15 are free. $30 charge per program ranked for each program over the first 15.

first thirty are free of charge when you apply for unfilled position, thru ERAS, in the Scramble.

they suck your money out even if you sneeze.

I have been working and I think this whole usmle business and ERAS is bloody expensive. I wonder how the poor fresh graduates bear this whole cost. Most of the IMG's have to rely on their poor/rich parents money.

I agree.And i have a solution.

We can either rob ERAS bank or I can penetrate ERAS financial account and organize a circular flow of money. Each applicant will get 20 $ back out of 25 $ paid to ERAS for each program.I will divert 4$ to my own funds.

WE will sadly have to leave 1$ for ERAS because if they dont get any money then they will stop uploading and we will go back to square one.

Wondering what i will do with the money i will accumulate.OBviously ,i will pay ERAS for my apllication.

SO eventually in the circular flow of money nobody ,you ,i or ERAS will loose a penny .And the world will be a better place to live in.

Once a guy told me that in USA everything works perfectly when u r making a payment, but when it comes to service, everything breaks down (eg when ERAS faced all technical glitches while transmitting the usmle transcript).
I told him not to be so critical. I had a couple of instances when there were problems with the payment system too. Actually my card was charged twice for the same service.

thanks for the replies. i am wondering if we actually rank so many programs(of course, that is dreaming that we get all those interviews in the first place), don't program coordinators or directors come to know that we have ranked them lower down. and what if you want to rank both peds and im programs, is there a list to be made specialtywise? or can we mix things up, say for eg. (just a hypothetical example), if one person wants to do medicine unless he or she gets an interview in the best pediatric college. So can he rank that pediatric college as 1st and then put the good IM programs and then the less nicer peds programs and IM programs. I have no clue of this nrmp thing, so just wondering how it works.

I think you have to prepare a mixed list. I am not too sure though.
