a naive question. in the LoR cover letter, there is a choice between either "waive" or "not waive" my right to see the letter. could anybody tell me which is better? thanks.

If you choose I waive my right, it means that you will not get to see your letter and it will be sent to eras by your letter writer directly. You will have no idea of what he has written. This is generally considered better as it gives freedom to the letter writer to come up with a more honest opinion. If you have faith in your letter writer that he will write all good things for you, then u should take this option. Other option is what most of us resort to. Get the letter in our hand, review it, send it if it looks impresive. Its your choice. gl

hi, docrocker, thanks for your explanation. i still have another question. so if i choose "waive", that means my letter writers will send letter to ecfmg directly, right? then in the ERAS@document submission form, should i still list out their names in this form? or just leave letter writer name list blank? thanks a lot for your time.

No dont list out their names in eras document submission form which u will send. In eras doc submission form just list out the docs that u are sending.
