Usually u are not required to be dressed in formals for the dinner. wear something that is decent, looks professional and most importantly looks good on you. There will be residents and one or two faculty members. Try to interact, not just sit quietly in a corner. Ask questions if you have some genuine ones, dont make up questions just for the sake of asking. You can ask residents about the life in the city, fellowship placements, resident get togethers, attending to resident ration, didactic hours, stuff like that.
Remain cool and confident. Remember not to interrupt someone when he/she is talking. Let them complete what they have to say.
