I went through my applications in ERAS. I found the following patterns and give my interpretations. BBB, let me know if it is right. My files are not uploaded all at once. some came early. some came late, and they were uploaded over two weeks. this gives me a chance to see how programs download my files and give my interpretations below. pattern 1: programs not start download. this means nothing. although I do notice these are less competitive programs. pattern 2: programs downloaded all my files at one time. nothing to interpret. pattern 3: programs downloaded some of my files, then stop downloading for more than 3 days. especially they did not download on this friday. this is bad sign, which means i am out of the game. pattern 4: programs keep downloading my files as the documents being uploaded over the two weeks. this is promising. at least they are keeping their interests. anyone notice these patterns and correlate with interviews? I have two examples. I have one case in pattern 3 and received a rejection. I have another case in pattern 4 and received an interview. anyone else. please share. thanks

Thank you for starting this thread. I have programs that have not downloaded anything and I was worried as to the meaning of that. All the pograms that rejected me have downloaded everything though. Best of luck to you! A.

Interesting.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> They have to download your files to assess you for interview or rejection. Pattern 3 I guess is because after downloading few files they realize that you don't meet their criteria and stopped downloading any further to save time. So they can review other candidate's files. This is all just guess work though!

NO CORRELATION. Repeat after me: Programs have to download all information. Then it can be reviewed. Programs have to download all information. Then it can be reviewed. It's early.

Thanks bbb, you're so cool! Thanks again! I know it's technically early, but I got worried because I see some people are getting interviews already, and I have only gotten rejections, and well that's true 3 e-mails of acknowledgement and thanks for interest in the progrm so to speak. I just hope next week will be a better one! Best of luck to everyone! A.

Hugs to you, my friend. I'm certainly worried too. I got 2 "See ya in the next life"s and 1 "Gee, we're gonna wait and see til something better comes along" No interview invitations yet. I have terrible scores, multiple attempts. But... I have 6 publications, and a rockin' personal statement. 3 good LoRs (1 of which US), and USCE... No visa probs. Lots of volunteer work. I'm hoping that someone will view the positives a bit more than the negatives. Still awaiting uploading of my docs to the post office. (Retarded picture, but oh well, I'm no Miss America) I'm such a hard worker-bee..... Good luck to you, friscan.

to bbb and others one FM program downloaded just few files and sent me a rejection. It was on 9-06-06. LORs, transript and photo uploaded on 9-07-06. So , today is 16th and these files are not downloaded in this FM program but another programs did it. We will see what's happen. BBB, you said programs have to download all files. But it seems this one already deleted me and not going to finish downloading. So a program may be not interesting in you anymore if it stoped to transfer your files.

Please remain seated until the captain turns off the seatbelt sign. It is frustrating to not know ones destiny at times. Ask yourself this, "Did you do your best up until now? Did you do everything possible to make that application glow in that pile for someone to notice? Give yourself a pat on the back if you did. Did you apply to all the programs you felt you had the best possible outcome in? Give yourself another pat on the back. After being in my 2nd match now, I have come to realize that getting frustrated is natural. It is human emotion. Getting upset and continuing to ponder and analyze what people are saying or doing about my application is out of my hands now. For all I know, the PD could be smoking a cigar and spilling jack daniels on my application while dancing around the pile. No offense to anyone. I have had many lengthy conversations with my wife about the frustrations of getting over this wall and into a program. She asked me if I did the best I could. I said yes. She said be still and let the universe do its work. At this point, it is up to the universe to open that one door for which I will walk through and enter a new chapter in my life as a resident. I can reinforce this move by staying positive and picturing myself daily walking around on rounds with my head up high. Bottom line is that worrying once you get your application into a program does not get you any closer to a residency position. At this point, if you have your applications in, start putting the energy towards step 3 or preparing for the interviews. Selling yourself during the interview will be the final closing of the deal in giving you a shot at matching. There is no such thing as luck. It is opportunity meeting preparation.

It may not look at them, but it has to take the rest of your files.
