Imagine this: an IMG matched to a residency position but for unfortunate reasons can not obtain the appropriate visa in time to start the residency and therefore is a "no show up" for the program. Is this a violation of match regulations, even if it is not the IMGs fault? What does this IMG have to do in this case concerning match regulations? Has this happened to anybody before? thanks for the info.

No, you aren't a match no-show because of visa issues.

thank you bbb my visa is still pending (i will receive it in october) and this is just too late even for a late start in this academic year. We have agreed that the program (transitional year) will sign me up for 2007 outside the match instead. bbb The way I understand your answer I am not in trouble with nrmp and will not have to inform nrmp about it. Thank you very much for the great advice in this forum. greetings
