MgSO4 is used for controlling seizuring of eclamsia.Other indications of MgSO4 are
  1. Tocolytic agent
  2. TPD
  3. Status asthematicus (sometimes) particularly when patient is Mg deficienct
  4. Orally as Cathartic

Sorry it is typo .It was TDP = torsade de pointes .
