I'm scheduled to take the step 1 tomorrow and I'm only scoring around 33% on BSS and 40% on USMLE practice exam (I know, I know .. not high enough). If I don't sit for the exam during my block. I guess it will show as an irregularity. Would it be better to have an irregularity than to have a failing step 1 score on my report? Would it be better to skip taking the step 1 or should I take it anyway? Also, I have heard that we have the option at the start of the step 1 exam (on the computer) to say if we are ready to take the exam or not. Would it be better to show up and say that I'm not ready for the exam or would it be better to not show up at all for the exam?

I should have added that tomorrow is the last day of my 6-month block (3 month regular + 3 month extension) so I can't extend ... I would have to pay to retake the exam again.

i strongly suggest you should take it, dont fear failures go ahead and take it. Its not life or death, its just step 1.
