iīve heard that the Bronx area in new york is not very safe, high crime rate, but iīve just heard of it, i donīt know if thatīs true or completely false. Does anybody know about it??? i applied to 2 or 3 programs out there.

Ya i just figured it out its UPMC shady side who sent me the rejection thou last yr they sent invitation to a fr of mine with lower scores then mine....its just the prgzz r gettin so many applications tht they r outta ther pants..lolz Imagine saint barnabas wrote in ther invitation letter tht we recieved 3000 applications......which was once the amnout recieved by good uni prg'z.....so its gettin tugh....

St. Barnabas is not a good program...do give your interview but try to avoid it if you can....hopefully you would get much better calls....

it would take alot of explaining to through some light this program.... look at the second part of my earlier answer" hopefully you would get more and better calls".....rest is upto you..you can make up your mind once you interview there....

As for Bronx being safe, I think it is a big misconception stemming from the old days of hollywood when these areas were portrayed as crime infested. When ever I go back to my home country (Pakistan), every one automatically assumes bronx, brookly, are dangerous places to live. in my opinion, there are good parts of the town and bad parts of towns every where. same is true for bronx and brooklyn. my cousin is doing residency in brooklyn. i have visited him several times and i never encountered any danger or felt unsafe and i think i would feel the same way about bronx.

its not about bronx being safe or not....its about the reputation of programs....SUNY at brooklyn and Mainomides I would say are good programs and on the contrary St. Branabas and Bronx Lebanon are not that good....its the program not the place....
