laptop wrote: Rumours have it that programs disguise sodium amytal (truth extracting drug ) by mixing it with food in pre interview dinner parties. SO if you have a few lies to tell during the interview ,attend with your own judgement. seems like u watch too much of CNN...lol...its a nice opportunity to meet residents and ask all sorts of questions u wont ask PD's...u might get the feeling if u want to be a part of that crowd or not...good luck

Hehehe, laptop - first the Guruchus and now the imagination! Well, I went on the pre-interview night out, and I had actually fun. It was interesting to see the people who applied and to see who my "competitors" were. It was very nice, and actually, I was accepted to that position. Unfortuantely, I didn't get a PGY1 spot, so my PGY2 spot was given to someone else. Such is life, but definitely go!! You'll get a great meal out of it, and meet some of your future colleagues. That's important too: Do you like them? Do you think they smell or have some other oddness to them that you don't like or even do like! It's a chance for BOTH parties to see what they might be getting.
