. A 36-year-old woman presents with muscle weakness and fatigue. She is not taking any medications. Physical examination shows dry, yellowish skin. Her pulse rate is 45/min and she has slow, shallow respirations. Laboratory studies reveal a serum sodium of 125 mEq/L and fasting serum glucose of 59 mg/dL. Her total serum cholesterol is 350 mg/dL. These findings are best explained by a deficiency in which of the following? A. Aldosterone B. Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) C. Cortisol D. Insulin E. Tetraiodothyronine (T4)

How do ya guys explain Incrsd total cholesterol with cotisol def I think its T4, Lipid metabolism: Increased thyroid hormone levels stimulate fat mobilization, leading to increased concentrations of fatty acids in plasma. They also enhance oxidation of fatty acids in many tissues. Finally, plasma concentrations of cholesterol and triglycerides are inversely correlated with thyroid hormone levels - one diagnostic indiction of hypothyroidism is increased blood cholesterol concentration
