If a resting individual at the sea level doubles his alveolar ventilation what would be his arterial Pco2?

a. same as in the alveoli
b. 120 mm Hg
c. 100 mm Hg
d. 80 mm Hg
e. 40 mm Hg

I guess A because it can't be any of the other answers!

If you hyperventilate, you will be hypocapneic. So pCO2 LESS than 40.

if alveolar ventilation doubles, that means that Pco2 in the alveoli and artery is reduced by half. thus the Pco2 will be 20mm Hg.
