C. The areas in visual cortex will become non fucntional if no visual input from the eye. In strabismus often one eye fixes and other doesn't. The input from the eye is a stimulus for organisation of ocular columns. In ther absence, they are not organised. Also any correction of infantile cataract should be done early unlike in adults.

I agree with the reason proposed by papez but that doesnt seem to go well with the choice indicated. Im kind of divided between D & E.

D- degeneration doesnt appear to be right. E- I dont understand the choice I still go with C

I am a certified pediatrician in my country, explanation given by Dr. Papez is the correct one, belive me .
