Not only can the EKG be used to analyze the electrical conduction in the heart, but it can also be used to measure the heart rate. If the time interval between the peaks of two consecutive QRS complexes is 750msec, what is the heart rate of that person in beats per minute (BPM)?

a. 60
b. 65
c. 70

Simple calculation

750 m sec = 1cycle

1msec = 1/750 cycle

1 sec = 1x1000/750 cycles

60 sec = 1x1000x60 /750 cycles = 60,000/750 =80 cycles /min

Best of luck
