hi, is it important our step 3 score for receiving or not an interview offer? if i passed it with a low score, will that be bad? i'm talking about Internal Medicine programs, i know each program has its own requirements but any idea of previous experiences in the match or several programs or anything???

apurva/bbb/any other who know about this???

confused

thanks for your replies.

I dont think it is vital for you to have step 3 scores. But if u need H1 it just lets the program know that you are ready to get one. Dont worry too much. I havent seen many people with gr8 step 3 score.

thanks dev for your answer. any other different opinion?

i like the don pic moresmiling face

get the best result u can. esp try to go for atleast a low 80. bcoz some pds frown upon 99/99 with a 75 in s3. doesnt look good. and a good score never hurt any1. glsmiling face

now i know more about it.

let me put it in other words, for instance:

when in a webpage a hospitals says: we ask for a minimum of 85 in the steps. is that including step 3?? or only 1 and 2ck??

mainly for Internal medicine programs, according to previous match experiences or any other info. the thing is that i got my score and unfortunately for me cool is lower than that.

the score in the website is for step 1 and 2 not for step 3.

It is usually said that if you are giving ur step 3 after or during the match, then scores dont matter. But If you are applying with step 3 score then it is better if u have it in 80s atleast

ok, that clears it. thanks dev again. wink

Yeah, I am pretty anxious about my low Step 3 score. My other scores are good, credentials fine. The step 3 is my pitfall sad Wish it is not given a lot of importance!!
