Hi, I met some Americans applying for residency. They said they were IMG although they are Americans. Isn't that wried? What does "caribbean" mean? Why do people tend to go to caribean although there are tons of medical schools in the states? is it cheaper?! I know my questions may be rude if directly asking them so throw them here and see any one know about this.

In caribbean medical lectures are given on golden beaches.Salma Hayek did her medical schooling in the carribean.SInce then going to carribean has become a fad.Hope it helps .Please do not hesitate to ask more .

Going to a med school in the Caribbean may not be cheaper, but if you can't get into a US medical school, it's closer to home and many of the clinical rotations are done in the USA.

It is cheaper. I think they dont need premed, so that they come out of med school earlier.

She is a heart surgeon who has done 6000 coronary artery bypass surgeries.Whats well known for her is that she only cuts and never seals and does it only on 46xys as apurva mentioned..The most famous carribean medical graduate.

Dane, I think we talked about different "Salma Hayek"...I did the same mistake...thought the actress went to the caribbean school

SHe did cali .She did go to carribean medical school.

If there is one more salma hayek who went to carribean ,please let us know about it.We want to do clinical research under salma.

pay close attention to bias, there are a lot of distraction under salma. You should use duble blind on the rocks technics even if second day you'll encounter some recall bias.
