Does it account for selection/non-selection in interviews? BBB, Apurva, or any one else?

  #2

No...but it counts if you looking for a prematch or H-1B.....

  #3

AAC,
If I understood you right, the scores don't count, just passing it helps towards a pre-match/visa?

  #4

everything counts, dude maybe not in selection for interview, but definitly for picking the resedent..

I heard about a guy that selected as a resedent (among the best 5 in interviews) as the PD feels comfortable with him, do U know why?!!! because he plays a rare type of Karate that the PD was playing too (when he was young) !!!!

it definetly adds if u have good scores on step-3.

I agree it adds..but most good programs dont take step 3 into consideration as far as selection for an interview is concerned as most people havent taken step 3 when they apply.....but if someone decides to take step 3 then he must score well as that would add up...while collecting background info about programs I got couple of replies from programs sating step 3 wont be used to evaluate...

This is only my experience where I am working now - we only care if you pass step 3 if you need H1b visa sponsorship. But what I will say - make certain you pass on the first attempt, even if you don't want an H1b visa.

Good luck.
