Why is anaerobic glycolysis favored in muscle? I know that in aerobic glycolysis, the ATPs are produced more and in anaerobic glycolysis, the ATPs are produced less. but isn't it beneficial to produce more ATPs in the body system??? thank you.

it is favored in type II fibers only not in type I of skeletal muscles.type II fibers do not have many mitochondria.

Best of luck
