Hi examinees,

Im an IMG and took my STEP2 CS in Atlanta on the 21st of Aug.

I am happy with the patient encounters and the patient note up till the DD and work up. Although i went through all the FA cases several times, i felt my DD and orders for tests were all over the place. And on a few cases about 3 of them i forgot to wash my hands.

Can anyone tell me what is more important? the DD being correct or is this exam mainly the communication bit thats scored?

AS FAR AS I KNOW THAT 60-65 % WILL BE FROM COMMUNICATION AND PHYSICALS ETC AND 30-35 % WILL BE PATIENT NOTE. SO I THINK COMMUNICATION ETC HAS A BIG ROLE

Thanks so much 'mytimenow' and is 70 or 80% required to pass?
With this exam i just dont know what to expect, but everytime i read stuff on the forum, my hope for a pass just increases. Just gotta pray and wait for it.

sealed,
I want to wish you the best, and I think you will pass, most of people got out of the exam feeling bad, but they all pass (quote from my friend who is doing her residency now, passed cs last year).
I have my cs in Altlanta in Nov and want to know if you have some helpful hint to share with me?
Wish you the best, you will pass cs.

Hi redsky,

Thanks for your comforting words. Just praying and waiting for the final verdict....

Well helpful hints, cant think of any, the center is close to the airport like all other centers, the proctors are very friendly and helpful. Everything went very smoothly on my exam day - very well organized. The lunch however was lame... but foods the last thing you will worry about in your break ;-)

If there is any particular question you want to ask, I am willing to answer

Good Luck with your preparation and Exam!!!

Im so happy - still cant believe it but OASIS says I passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just Step 2 CK now to get ECFMG Certified. All i used for this exam was First Aid and did it just a week after my Step 1.

My advice is go do this exam and get it out of the way!!!

congrats! Mine is in 3 wks at Atlanta, i have read UW and FA twice and practiced all cases in FA. Did you use UW at all? Do you think FA (31 cases) cover all cases in the cs? Did you have any p.t not cooperative? Thanks for your help.
GL with your CK. I cleared mine, CS is my last hurdle.

nod redsky: To answer your question regarding preparation, FA did not really have the exact cases i encountered but along the same lines, just be flexible and you should be fine. I did not do UW at all. None of the patients were non-cooperatiave in my encounter. In one case the patient said no to all my questions and i felt i was totally on the wrong track, but continued anyway and reported all the negative findings. Seems like it worked.
Regarding Wine I dont know if its a big issue. Just do the CAGE questions to be on the safe side and if they are not dependent - take it easy. Good Luck in Atlanta. Any advice for CK?

nod mytimenow: THANKS - Good Luck to you if you have any out standing exams.

nod dr.ss : Im an IMG(Final year med student) and IMGs can take the USMLE Steps 1 and 2 CK & CS in any order you wish.
