Hi
tolito
I think treatment for acute hepatitis is supportive . IF or lamivudine are for chronic hepatitis. what do u say?

  #21

deardoc2007, you are correct.

you give antiviral therapy for acute hep C, not for hep B.

  #22

For hepatitis C it shud b IF and ribavirin as lamivudine is for hepatitis B.

  #23

i dont think there is any specific therapy for any acute hepatitis, T/t is supportive.

support acute. medicate chronic , transplant cirrhosis.

chronic hep B-----interferon OR lamivudine
chronic hep C------interferon AND ribavarin.

  #24

hi
prathapdoctor
i think treatment for both( acute hep b and c) is supportive. IF and antivirals r used for chronic therapy only.

dR arc ur opinion is same like me.

  #25

in UW they mentioned that for Hep B Rx is IF and lamivudine but acc to DR. Fischer it is IF or lamivudine---what u think?
