New to the forum. I have applied to both Anesthesia (30) as well as IM (60). 89/96/CS result in mid Oct/ 4 US LORs / 6 mo USCE. Two rejects - Wayne State and UPMC, PA. Not too optimistic but will be happy to get a few IVs.
Congrats njemt369 for 9 IVs.
Mazinger, Sarika and co...you are doing great job in these forums.

dont loose faith
it is too early.....now the program directors r sending ivs to 99rs but soon will start sending for the following scores as they realize that these 99ers r also interviewed by other programs!!!!!- the same pool of applicants who got 99 r interviewed every where very early then it comes to the following pool with less scores-
so the fear these 99ers prefer other programs and they dont fill all their program positions will make them send the following pool ivs
beleive me
also be prepared for the post match scramble
and keep fighting tell the last breath!!!

Hi I have all my clinical rotations in US hospitals... so 2 years worth.
I have a total of 10 anestesiology interviews as of yet. I also have one rejection (univ. cincinatti.) they apparently don't review FMG's because I have 99/99/? 4.0 GPA and all USCE with great LORs. So if you are an FMG and you have an interview from U of Cincinatti please post so I can be proved wrong.
I hope everyone gets into anesthesia this year that wants to. best of luck!

njemt369, please tell your graduation year.
It seems that many programs have a graduation year cut off screen....
Just got rejection from U. Michigan yesterday. They did not even download all my application materials. PDs said IV slots are already full and I applied too late (last friday).

hey mazinger and njemt369,
firstly i would like to congragulate u for ur interviews..i havenot applied to anesthesia this year.have 99 and 98 in steps and wanna get in anesthesiology..so to increase my chances i hve been trying to find a research job so that i can publish some papers and then then apply to anesthesia so that my chances willl increase..i have been e- amiling many people who r in anesthesia research if they have any positions for me but did not hear even a single positive reply..
wat is the best way to get a good research so that i cant get 1 or 2 papers published..
any inputs will be appreciated..

Hello again,
Well I got three interviews and two rejections:
Ivs: UMass, UPitt and U of Toledo
Rej: U Colorado, Oschner in New Orleans
I have a lot more rejections that just these two but I threw away all those emails. Remeber that they give interviews all the way until December so no one should be discouraged!!!

99/99/cs cleared, 2 1/2 years anesthesiology in my country, no usce, gc holder.
No anesthesiology iv but I have 6ivs for IM prelim!
