Hi everybody! I have Kaplan 2004 edition and a few other books about same year editions or a little bit older. Are they still good for studying for step 1 or there are any major changes that make these books not so good anymore? Thanks and good luck to all!

I think not much of difference except few more charts. Best would be to borrow it from someone and xerox and attach to the old version. It will save time for you if you have already done 2004. Otherwise do latest.

dont you worry your head about 2004 editions. they are very fine. i used even 1998 editions. i used 2002 kaplani had only 2 current books 2005...mmrs and brs behav. i scored very well. even if you are not a recent grad, dont be worried at all. FA 2006 is the one to get cos it is in in systems and people say it helps a lot. congrats on your baby. i hope s/he brings you even more delight can ever be possible even with 99 on mle.

Well in light of tolito my opinion doesn't stand a chance coz he/she is the Forum Guru and he/she had done extremely well in Step One. So follow his/her advice. Congrats on becoming a Mom. GL with Motherhood and MLE.

A Senior Forum Member Drpak told me that the FA 2006 has mistakes in it. He suggested to look for FA 2005 ed according to him its far better so plz just be sure to chk up on things in FA cos if there r discrepancies then u have to be sure. I know its a little odd but cant help it to chk things around.

Thank you so much for your responses and congratulationa! I have twins . I also have the FA 2004. Is that one too old ? So if I study from the books I have for the next year, sometime, that would be good enough?

FA in general is not that accurate a book. interms of reliability, i think kaplan is far superior..( though some times q bank explanations are found word to word in it)..i wasnt one of the FA fans. my experience was u need to focus on the concepts. i think i had a MAXIMUM OF 10-15 QS in the entire exam which involved recall. FA is a purely recall based book. use hwatever edition u hav and make additions from the reliable sources on to it. good luck
